Duff C. Hearon, President – Ashland Group

Duff C. Hearon, Founder of Ashland GroupDuff C. Hearon is the owner of the Ashland Group, LLC, a diversified investment company in commercial real estate, start up companies and securities. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in both Finance and Accounting from the University of Arizona. In 1972, Hearon was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army and completed his reserve duty in 1980 as a Captain.

Hearon began his career as a CPA in the Chicago office of Arthur Andersen & Company in 1972. After graduating from law school with the highest distinction he practiced real estate, and commercial and tax law with southern Arizona’s premiere law firm of Molloy, Jones & Donahue, P.C. (1978-1984). From 1984 to present, he is recognized as an “A” and “V” (highest rating for ethics) rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, the National Lawyers Directory. In 1985, Mr. Hearon founded Ashland Group and in 1997 became its sole owner.

Hearon is an active community leader and has held or holds board positions and memberships with many governmental and professional associations including: the Governor’s Strategic Partnership for Economic Development – GSPED; Board of Directors, Pima County Real Estate Research Council; Greater Tucson Economic Council – “GTEC”, (Chairman 2001-June 2003); the Southern Arizona Leadership Council (Board Member); Tucson Airport Authority, and University of Arizona President’s Club. Hearon is a member of the Tucson Conquistadores.  A philanthropic group that raises millions of dollars for Tucson’s youth sports, and is the sponsoring host of the International Federation of PGA Tours World Golf Championship, now held in Tucson each February. He has served as a Board member and Chairman of the United Way Campaign of Greater Tucson’s Fundraising Campaign. He is a current member of the University of Arizona Foundation and a proud “Wildcat”.  Bear Down!
